Monthly Meetings:  Third Thursday of month at 6:30 pm. Each month we have Show and Tell, demonstrations, discussions (not just about woodworking), gift coupon raffles, project challenges, and more.

Thursday, January 15, 2026 - 6:30 Club meeting in Woodcraft Supply store in Iowa City, located at 3 Escort Lane. The project of the month was a cane or walking stick. There will be a demonstration on Bent Lamination. Plan ahead and be prepared to bring your version of a Bent Lamination project to the March 19 meeting. 

Tuesday, January 27, 2026 - 2:00 Board Meeting. All are invited to attend. We meet at Vern Rotert's home, located at 1005 McGowan Blvd, Marion, Iowa

Thursday, February 20, 2026 - 6:30 Club meeting in Woodcraft Supply store in Iowa City, located at 3 Escort Lane. We were scheduled to have a guest speaker... Phil Huber, Multimedia Editor of Woodsmith Magazine will demonstrate an easier way to build cabinet doors. This construction method is applicable to most door styles. Phil's presentation was postponed due to weather and has been moved to April 23rd.

Thursday, March 19, 2026 - 6:30 Club meeting in Woodcraft Supply store in Iowa City, located at 3 Escort Lane. Bring your Bentwood Lamination project to show at the meeting. We will discuss member's techniques, frustrations, and successes in the making your projects. 

There will also be a discussion about finishing techniques. Bring your ideas and questions to share after we see everyone's lamination projects.

There will be time allotted to a SAFETY topic presented by Jeff Lihs. 

Tuesday, March 24, 2026 - 2:00 Board Meeting. All are invited to attend. We may be moving the March Board Meeting to a different location, most likely in the Iowa City area. Thursday, April 16, 2026 - 6:30 Club meeting in Woodcraft Supply store in Iowa City, located at 3 Escort Lane. We will have a guest speaker... There will also be a brief discussion in the April meeting about our May club project... repurposing something old or something used into a new woodworking project. 

Time permitting there will be a SAFETY topic... shop electrical considerations, circuit loads, and general electrical safety.

Thursday, May 21, 2026 - 6:30 club meeting in Woodcraft Supply store in Iowa City, located at 3 Escort Lane. Bring your club challenge project... repurposing something old or something used in to new woodworking project. Share your thoughts on how the new version of something old became a benefit to you. 

The April Safety topic is To Be Determined.

Time will be allotted to discuss June’s primary subject matter, called Member's Choice.  We will be passing out a list of about 50 topics for the member’s consideration. A vote will be taken to determine where the greatest interest lies. The 3-5 most popular choices will be voted upon to choose June’s subject matter. It is possible that we may choose more than one topic for the June meeting.

Time permitting, there will be a discussion/demonstration on hinges and wood hinge construction. Be prepared to bring in your hinge-related challenge project in June.

MEMBER 'S CHOICE NIGHT...  will be out topic, and it will be based on member vote held during the April meeting. It could be technique, design, fabrication techniques, or whatever the member's choose.

Thursday, July 16, 2026 - 6:30 club meeting in Woodcraft Supply store in Iowa City, located at 3 Escort Lane. 

SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER, NIC CARTER, owner of Knot Just Lumber will discuss his business in Hiawatha. He will inform us about native and exotic lumber he sources as well at update the club on woodworking services that are now on board at his shop. We have asked Nic to address topics such as:

• Sourcing exotic lumber
• Sourcing native lumber
• Information about your family’s saw milling business 
• Machine services you provide in-house 
• Any services that you may provide through outsourcing 
• Lumber drying services you provide as well as information about the type of drying you do
• Any new or unique techniques Knot Just Lumber uses to help the woodworking community 
• Anything else that you feel would be pertinent to discuss with woodworkers
