2026 Meeting Minutes

Corridor Woodcrafters 

January 15, 2026. 6:30pm 

16 people present 

• We received a card of thanks from Pat Hagen for the members that helped her to sell off her late husband’s tools. 
• Paul Engel (paul@acuteengelwoodworx.com) from the Woodworkers Guild of Johnson County is trying to sell an Air Shield Pro face shield. He’s asking $250. 
• New Officer elections: All were unopposed and elected unanimously. 
• President: Jeff Lihs 
• Vice President:open 
• Secretary: Philip Lashmit 
• Treasurer: Vern Rotert 
• Show and Tell: (I’ll try to include pictures next time) 
• A lot of items were displayed, and we had some great discussion 
• Tom St John brought a stool and a laminated cane 
• Jim Cox brought a laminated cane and a cherry, oak, and walnut chess set 
• Vern Rotert brought an end grain cutting board that he made from a variety of scraps. Vern won the $10 gift card. 
• Philip Lashmit brought pictures of some maple cubbies that he made for his church’s preschool. 
• Chase Becicka brought some napkin rings and a beer flight. He is new to woodworking and enjoying trying new things. 
• Ray Hamilton brought some walking sticks/canes that he has made in years passed. He also brought numerous miniature bird houses that he turned. 
• Larry Luebbert brought a Shillelagh (Irish cane/club) made from a root burl 
• Jeff Lihs brought his cane laminated from 27 strips of various woods. He also had pictures of a nightstand that he made for his wife. 
• Raffle: 
• $10 each: Tom St John, Tim Vest, Don Coleman 
• $20: Jim Cox 
• Demonstration: 
• Larry Luebbert discussed bent lamination. He showed how he used it for a stretcher for a bench that he made. 
• The challenge for the March meeting will be to make something employing bent lamination.
